2026 Scholarship Program
Apply for a $1,000 Scholarship
Freedom Credit Union is pleased to offer up to eight (8) scholarships of $1,000 each to students continuing their education after completing high school, home education, or a GED program in Spring 2026.
These scholarships are designed for students who show determination, resilience, and clear commitment to their next educational step.
Who Can Apply?
You are eligible if you are:
- A graduating high school senior (public, charter, or private), or
- A home‑educated student completing secondary requirements in 2026, or
- A GED completer or registered 2026 test‑taker
AND:
- You are a Freedom Credit Union member or the child/grandchild of a member
- You plan to attend an accredited college, university, trade, or vocational program full‑time within 9 months of completion (deferrals available for up to 30 months for military or volunteer service)
What You’ll Need to Submit
To apply, you will provide:
1 | Documentation of Your Education Path
- High school: Unofficial transcript
- Home‑educated: Learning summary or portfolio/dual‑enrollment transcript
- GED: Proof of completion or test registration (award contingent on passing)
2 | A Short Recommendation – A brief recommendation from a school counselor or other qualified adult (for home‑educated or GED applicants, this may be an instructor, employer, co‑op leader, or similar).
3 | Two Brief Essays
- Impact in Focus: How this scholarship will support your educational or career goals
- Resilience & Readiness: A challenge you overcame and how it prepared you for your future
4 | Your Postsecondary Plans: Your intended school or program and your enrollment goals.

Freedom's Giving Tree
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2025 Freedom’s Giving Tree. Because of your generosity, local children and families were supported with meaningful gifts during the holiday season.
Each November and December, our Giving Tree gives members the opportunity to give back in a personal way and we’re grateful for every ornament picked, gift donated, and act of kindness shared.

Annual Meeting
Join us May 16, 2026 for our Annual Pancake Breakfast! Enjoy our famous pancakes and a complimentary breakfast for the entire family. The day is packed with exciting prizes, patriotic T-shirts, scholarship announcements, and a brief business meeting lasting less than five minutes. We invite all members to attend this special event.
